One Year

I had been thinking about it, but didn't even realize it when the time passed - it's been a year since I've started blogging again.

Still haven't hit a hundred {public} posts, but eh that's the way it goes =)

Ole Mr. Big Head Mahablogger on the other hand, must have over a thousand in as much time as me ; ]

Been at camp for three days, work before that, some posts are in the works - no promises, though. TeraRoop has been highly unreliable in internet matters lately =(

ahh g'bye

With whom shall I make friends?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

The false ones love falsehood, and forget their Creator.
With whom should I become friends, if all the world shall pass away?

"Twice... not nearly enough."

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Fareedhaa Galleeeae Chikarh Dhoor Ghar Naal Piaarae Naehu ||
Challaa Th Bhijai Ka(n)ballee Rahaa(n) Th Thuttai Naehu ||24||
Bhijjou Sijjou Ka(n)ballee Aleh Varsou Maehu ||
Jaae Millaa Thinaa SajNaa Thuttou Naahee Naehu ||25||

Fareed, the path is muddy, and the house of my Beloved is so far away.
If I go out, my blanket will get soaked, but if I remain at home, then my heart will be broken. ||24||
My blanket is soaked, drenched with the downpour of the Lord's Rain.
I am going out to meet my Friend, so that my heart will not be broken. ||25||

The Sublime Sermon

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Aasaa, Fifth Mehla:
The Sublime Sermon of the Lord is the best thing for the soul. All other tastes are insipid. ||1||Pause||
The worthy beings, heavenly singers, silent sages and the knowers of the six Shaastras proclaim that nothing else is worthy of consideration. ||1||
It is the cure for evil passions, unique, unequalled and peace-giving; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, drink it in. ||2||4||133||

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Dhan Dhan Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj

When thinking of Maharaj Ji di Shaheedi, something important to keep in mind:

When thinking of Guru Ji Maharaj Himself, when thinking of His jeevan, when thinking of the Fifth form of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji, two important things to keep in mind:

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

The past couple of weeks - especially the past few days - I have thought a lot about many things, a few of them which were just right for blogging about.. but I always forget them. I need to remember them now. I know two of them were controversial but very important..

OH I remembered one: convo with Sandeep Veerji last night, concerning that random video {must find again}, and monas who claim Sikhi vs. Sikhs, what makes a Sikh a Sikh, and what should be done about those who claim to be Sikhs but adhere not to the simplest of rules. This relates directly to Sandeep Veerji's question of eons ago, do we treat them with love in the sense that we let them say they are Sikhs, or do we come down hard and exclaim they are not Sikhs and drive them even further away from the path. Is a middle grounds possible? Post to come.

Bairaag/depression.. dropped original post, new experiences will definitely take this from a different perspective.

Addictiveness of chat and internet.. and the method discussed with Veerji last night.. will staying away long enough make us [disgusted] when we return? {pepsi resistance!}

ekta.. interesting topic really.. a somewhat inspirational 'speech' {supposedly}.. we need someone to write something worded quite strongly.. a wake up call.. to show people that we say we need to improve ourselves, only then can we have ekta.. yet we continue to be a downer on one and all, and forget this personal improvement scheme {wow, i hope i understand this at a later time}..

effects of education 'outsiders' of incidents like '84.. what do we accomplish? or marches and protests really all we can do? have we honestly exhausted all peaceful means, should we now give in to those who say that marches and protests have been overused and we need now to lift - not our swords - but guns? {no.. but why? need good, sound, reasonably logical approach [teraroopie, you know you're not good at that =pp], some sort of proof is needed, that all peaceful means have been exhausted.. i mean, petitions, protests, marches.. is this really all that the 'peaceful arsenal' consists of? unbelievable.}

what will motivate kids? interesting concept.. asked one who appears unmotivated, yet has an obvious desire deep down which only became obvious through a few, oblique opened up moments.. half moments more like.. anyway, the answer to the question of 'what, sikhi related of course, would motivate you to further your spiritual life?'.. answer? here: "lots of money.. and a gutka." at first it seemed like it wouldnt work.. but i looked back on what motivated me, and i think.. why not? this ties in, perhaps even directly, with the gifts of money awared to children who attend our saturday camps.. what changed us? we went for the same reasons.. and now we dont?

PANGAT - LANGAR! we've lost the original concept.. specifically cover..: in Guru Jee Maharaj da vela, Sangat would arrive and partake of Langar before they could receive Darshan.. we no longer do this. and segregation, for lack of the existence of a more suitable word in roopi's vocab, still exists.. for ex. we sit by people we know, or in empty spaces, we become uncomfortable and hesitate when we are forced to sit next to someone we dont know or like due to limited space.. so.. what happened? how do we fix it? OH also.. seva.. whenever did this buffet line system start? what happened to sevadaars who 'served' the seated sanga {pangat?} rather than sangat coming up to the 'window' to get food?

modern times.. technology advances.. so we try to come up with better methods of educating the little ones.. and what do we produce? video games full of blood and gore, animated movies which create controversies under the title of lack of proper respect, or misrepresentation.. why are we making it worse? we are we accomodating the lack of knowledge of the future generations? we are only making it worse by building things for them.. wouldnt it be logical, and better all around, to teach them Punjabi and educate them in Baani and Sikh history the way we were? our Sikhi and history is slowly being erased because of mutilation of the sweet truth.. or lack of provisions.

whatever happened to guardian sikhs.. mm run that over with a few ppl.. dont spread it too far, ppl run away with and distort things..

most important: teach self to shut up.

im sure i left out a few =)

be back in a couple of weeks?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

p.s. * just remembereddddd.. keep this addy.. teraroop11 = id.. for Guru Maharaj Prakash Utsavs, banners can become TeraRoop*insert number of Patshahi here*.. for ex. Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj, Shaheedi Divas approaches.. banner will be TeraRoop5.. we'll see?

haha just leave neety, do it now..

mm. we'll see.

If you long for your Husband Lord, O young and innocent bride, then focus your consciousness on the Gurus feet. You shall be a happy soul bride of your Dear Lord forever; He does not die or leave. The Dear Lord does not die, and He does not leave; through the peaceful poise of the Guru, the soul bride becomes the lover of her Husband Lord. Through truth and self-control, she is forever immaculate and pure; she is embellished with the Word of the Gurus Shabad. My God is True, forever and ever; He Himself created Himself. O Nanak, she who focuses her consciousness on the Gurus feet, enjoys her Husband Lord. || 1 || When the young, innocent bride finds her Husband Lord, she is automatically intoxicated with Him, night and day. Through the Word of the Gurus Teachings, her mind becomes blissful, and her body is not tinged with filth at all. Her body is not tinged with filth at all, and she is imbued with her Lord God; my God unites her in Union. Night and day, she enjoys her Lord God; her egotism is banished from within. Through the Gurus Teachings, she easily finds and meets Him. She is imbued with her Beloved. O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, she obtains glorious greatness. She ravishes and enjoys her God; she is imbued with His Love. || 2 || Ravishing her Husband Lord, she is imbued with His Love; she obtains the Mansion of His Presence. She is utterly immaculate and pure; the Great Giver banishes self-conceit from within her. The Lord drives out attachment from within her, when it pleases Him. The soul bride becomes pleasing to the Lords Mind. Night and day, she continually sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord; she speaks the Unspoken Speech. Throughout the four ages, the One True Lord is permeating and pervading; without the Guru, no one finds Him. O Nanak, she revels in joy, imbued with His Love; she focuses her consciousness on the Lord. || 3 || The mind of the soul bride is very happy, when she meets her Friend, her Beloved Lord. Through the Gurus Teachings, her mind becomes immaculate; she enshrines the Lord within her heart. Keeping the Lord enshrined within her heart, her affairs are arranged and resolved; through the Gurus Teachings, she knows her Lord. My Beloved has enticed my mind; I have obtained the Lord, the Architect of Destiny. Serving the True Guru, she finds lasting peace; the Lord, the Destroyer of pride, dwells in her mind. O Nanak, she merges with her Guru, embellished and adorned with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. || 4 || 5 || 6 ||

Please Donate

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

If you've a credit card, please donate whatever you can..

A message from veerji:

Please help me raise funds for liver research and education and support children and families living with liver disease. Many people are affected by liver disease on a daily basis. Help us put some of these families financially at ease so that they can devote their entire time worrying about their child, not about how to pay for them.

I haven't a credit card of my own, but will work on getting Papa Ji to chip in some =)

Even if you can't donate any money yourself, please do spread the word! Time is short for this effort, the latest date to receive any collections is Saturday, the earliest is tomorrow (!)*.

Guru Ji di Kirpaa naal, Veerji di Sevaa safal ho jaae..
